Welcome

The Curriculum Materials Collection (CMC), located on the main level of the Library, is dedicated to the needs of Education students on campus.

CMC Statement of Purpose

The purpose of the CMC is to support the curriculum material needs of students preparing for careers in K-12 education.

Curriculum materials, as defined by the Association of College & Research Libraries’ Guidelines for Curriculum Materials Centers, are “educational resources that provide curriculum and instructional experiences for K-12 students. These materials are used by educators to develop curricula and lesson plans and may also be used in actual instructional situations with K-12 students. These materials also provide information for those doing research.”

In order to achieve this purpose, the CMC will:

  1. develop and maintain a collection of K-12 materials that serve student needs
  2. provide facilities conducive to appropriate use of CMC materials
  3. maintain a CMC website that provides information regarding CMC resources and services as well as links to appropriate curriculum materials sites
  4. provide opportunities for the college community to explore issues involving educational policies and practice
